Kids trading cards are officially licensed cards that have been produced since
1989. They are inserted into each issue that up until 2020 have been published
monthly with the exception of a combined January-February issue. Starting in
2020, they have been published every two months.
There are nine cards per
sheet, with a select few issues containing four card insert sheets. They're
printed on a light cardboard stock paper [a little more flimsy than Topps and
other cards] and are limited to a print run of the amount of issues published
by the magazine. There are usually less of them produced than traditional
trading cards. Many get discarded with the magazines or ruined while being torn
out, making those that end up in circulation to be significantly less than
those printed.
