For your consideration is an ANTIQUE GEORGE III STERLING 925 SILVER SADDLE-FORM HANDLED BASKET c.1794, part of a small group of George III sterling silver holloware i have listed.

This fine basket is in superb condition and the handle and hinge quite sound. One side of the bowl is engraved with an armorial crest depicting a rampant lion with broad axe.

The piece measures 16.5cm/6.5" tall to the raised handle; 10.4cm/4"tall to highest point on rim; 15.5cm/6-1/8" at its longest(rim to rim) and weighs 232grams(7.48oz.Tr)

The bottom of the base is incised with:
MAKER MARK - SH in rectangular chamfered lozenge: Solomon Hougham (reg. 1793)
PURITY MARK - Lion Passant: 925 Sterling Silver  
CITY MARK - Crowned Leopard in shield lozenge: LONDON
DATE MARK - Lower Case letter 't':  1794
DUTY MARK - George III

Condition overall is excellent. This basket has been extremely well looked-after and is sure to delight!
