This is a M. G. Contreras Calle Mayor 80 classical acoustic guitar was made in Spain and is from the late 1960s or early 1970s.

This guitar sounds incredible. It has a sweet, warm and full sound, and is one of the best sounding classical guitars I've ever played. The solid woods and light construction gives this instrument amazing tonal qualities.

This guitar bears a label that reads "Guitarreria - M. G. Contreras - Calle Mayor, 80 - Madrid-13 - Made in Spain".

The guitar features a solid spruce top, Brazilian rosewood sides and back and ebony fingerboard. The tuners are all original and are very high quality, featuring a gun-metal blue/black color with engraved design. The bridge is partially inlaid Brazilian rosewood. The design work around the sound hole is all inlaid marquetry wood and is not a decal. The binding work on top and bottom is elegant and well done.

The guitar has a thin separation crack on the back that runs from the top to the bottom of the back board. This was likely caused by an overly dry environment. The crack has been professionally stabilized and does not affect any sound quality. When performing a "tapping" test along the back and top boards, all sections of the body resonate fully and have a "drum-like" resistance, as to be expected.

There are very minor imperfections on the top board (as seen possibly in pictures) and along the edges from player-related wear. The edge of the fingerboard also has a few wear marks.

A brand new Martin hard-shell case is included.
