This vintage Dinky toy car, model 254 Austin Taxi, is made by the renowned brand Dinky, this diecast car is a nice addition to any collection. The car has been restored to near its original state with a dark blue color and light blue hubs, which is a true representation of the car's design from 1951-62. Restored does not mean "perfect". The hubs have NOT been repainted for two reasons. One, the original color allows you to know that the original color of the body was Dark Blue. The Dark Blue version was made both as a 40h(2) from 1951 to 1953 as well as the 254(2) from 1954-1962. To my knowledge, there is no way to tell the Dark Blue 40h(2) from the 254(2). The second reason, is I think it allows for restoration that looks more authentic.
