Bressan, one of the greatest instruments of the Baroque period, is revived in modern times by contemporary master craftsmen Shigeharu Hirao and Hiroyuki Takeyama.
This epoch-making recorder was jointly designed and supervised by Shigeharu Yamaoka and Hiroyuki Takeyama, and we thoroughly pursued the comfort of playing with the tone and pitch of the original instrument.
Commitment to the inner diameter
The inner diameter of the recorder is not simply a straight line connecting both ends, but is constructed with subtle changes. As a result, a recorder with only eight tone holes can play a range of more than two octaves with correct pitches, including chromatic scales. In other words, it can be said that reproducing this complicated inner diameter is the key to manufacturing a plastic recorder.
Elimination of straight
windways The windways of many recorders manufactured during the Baroque period spread vertically immediately after the entrance, and then gradually narrowed to reach the exit. The tongued breath enters the instrument without resistance, and it feels easy to pronounce. After that, the narrowing naturally creates resistance and maintains a stable sound. In other words, it is a favorable state where there is resistance even though the reaction is good. However, conventional plastic recorder windways were unable to reproduce the continuous curve from the entrance to the exit required for floors and ceilings. In this product, the floor and ceiling of the windway are integrally formed, and the floor and ceiling are formed as surfaces with continuous curves to achieve the original sound performance of the recorder.
