- It has a stenciled design with overpainted detail featuring chrysanthemums in a woven basket.
- In Japan the chrysanthemum represents longevity, rejuvenation and nobility.
- This highly decorative large decorative plate dates to the mid 19th century circa 1860 during the Edo period 1603 -1867 in Japan.
- The base has six stilt marks in the centre, made when the plate was supported in the kiln.
- Its just under 12 inches in diameter.
- The stand is not included.
