• A beautiful antique Japanese Arita porcelain plate or charger, a round low dished shape with a foot ring in traditional cobalt blue over the white porcelain ground, the white ground has a slight blue tinge
• It has a stenciled design with overpainted detail featuring chrysanthemums in a woven basket. 
• In Japan the chrysanthemum represents longevity, rejuvenation and nobility.
• This highly decorative large decorative plate dates to the mid 19th century circa 1860 during the Edo period 1603 -1867 in Japan. 
• The base has six stilt marks in the centre, made when the plate was supported in the kiln.
• Its just under 12 inches in diameter.
• The stand is not included.
