Inspired by the Art Nouveau designs of Alphonse Mucha, this handmade, vintage wine caddy, carrier or tabletop storage rack is perfect for wine enthusiasts. A lightweight wood triangular prism frame showing three cylinder chambers intended for receiving and storing wine, Champagne or port bottles. Structure is wrapped in paper printed with Art Nouveau designs inspired by Alphonse Mucha to resemble a wood parquetry veneer. Among the graphics I found a Moet e Chandon image suggesting the piece could be used for small champagne bottles too. Fitted with an applied brass open carrying handle and elevated on two carved wood rosette shaped bun feet. No makers mark found. I would date the piece to the early 20th Century but can’t identify exact age; of French or Continental origin.

Measures 8 inches high (without handle), 6.75 inches deep, and width is 7-5/8 inches.

In very good overall condition exhibiting a wonderful deep, rich patina to graphics and brass. No serious issues or damage noted. Some edges where paper thinned or frayed appear to have been retouched up to blend. Some splinters to wood front face. A couple small white marks on surface. Overall stable and presents beautifully. Upon research this is the only example of its kind I have found.

Payments must be received within two days of the end of the listing unless prior arrangements have been made. If you cannot provide payment within two days, please contact me. eBay will automatically open an “unpaid case” and apply a “strike” against any buyer who violates this payment policy.

3. Shipping and Handling

I ship within 48 hours of payment. Usually items ship U.S. Postal Service “Priority Mail” unless otherwise indicated in the shipping details section on the listing. The shipping charge includes shipping costs, boxes, packing materials. I will pack carefully to help ensure safety and that your item arrives intact. Additional money is spent on packing materials. Check my feedback as previous customers have been satisfied with my packing. Where possible I recycle boxes and packing materials for my shipments. Note: due to fluctuations in USPS shipping rates and/or excessive surcharges I reserve the right to downgrade the shipping service, for any reason, from that which is posted in the listing. I don’t make money on shipping and will refund any overage paid resulting from downgraded service if the cost difference is greater than $3.

If the buyer wants a different a shipping method, actual shipping and handling costs will be charged. Double-boxing is not included unless otherwise stated.

International Shipping: International shipping is not offered on all auctions – check listing carefully. Where international shipping is offered - we participate in eBay's Global Shipping Program. We do not calculate these fees, have no control over, and do not benefit from them in any way. Please take this into consideration when placing your bid. We are unable to ship internationally except through the Global Shipping Program.

Claims for damages in transit are the responsibility of the buyer to file with the shipper directly. I am not responsible for the transit time once the item(s) has been accepted by the shipping carrier and eBay delivery estimates are often misrepresented and not relevant in my transactions.

International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine costs prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
