if an offers accepted for a single unit then it may well be a ‘b’ list quality so no complaining about the quality and there will be no free lanyard - you make a saving and there probably was no profit made.
Price for 5-pin version is an extra £2 - I wanted to change the advert to offer the option of 3 or 5-pin with different prices but it seems the category does not allow this.

To add to the description of possibilities within the use of this dmx tester and to answer some faq’s if you have an issue with it’s use or performance.
The original design is based on dmx protocol usitt standards.
Since this time many changes have been made within the industry so standard is not always the reality.
Such as...
Using a network node or switcher means only 2 leds light up as the dmx is produced differently.
Normally this means red and green lights only, there have been some batches of leds used that meant the green was too bright so this may not be the case but 2 led’s will light.
Also some new consoles have varying results, those i’ve found so far are:
Avolites tiger touch, quartz - the red led lights very dimly whereas the others are as normal.
Ma2 fine through xlrs, no blue through a network node.
Same goes for chamsys mq-60, not with magicq pc dongle (same goes for avo ti-mo)
I have spoken to manufacturers about the differences in chip set design but as it stands this is what it is.
Some buffers/ splitters also do similar.
I’m adding to the list as new incidences occur but work with me not against me.
If your system differs from other dmx control devices that do light up all leds and only two light up - the tester is still showing the presence of a dmx signal.
As this is not deemed faulty when tested with usitt standard dmx then no returns will be applicable.
If you find a problem the email address is in my ads for a reason and i will be happy to answer any enquiry about it’s use - always a preference rather than starting an unnecessary dispute on here that is a waste of time for all concerned.
These kinds of ‘faults’ really are not, try the tester in a different console type and chances are it will light all 3 leds.
Therefore i will not refund or accept returns for non faulty goods that end up costing me for my time, extra postage costs and answering emails, messages and disputes.
But, if you ask nicely i will be happy to advise a way to determine if the fault is genuine and if it is i will repair or replace at my discretion and as i see fair.
I designed them, i know if someone has done something stupid or tampered or trying to lull a fast one - seen it far too often.
Remember - An email is an email, a message through ebay is not an email.
Plugging in to the ‘wrong’ equipment - i had a complaint that all leds didn’t light. From inspecting the damage i would say a high voltage went through the tester destroying all the internal components. The tester is designed to withstand dmx voltages, anything above 5v dc will damage it and therefore is not covered. Of course the buyer did not admit what it was plugged into, would have been nice to know to avoid further problems.
In over 20 years of making testers like this, the design has changed but mainly only due to components used, there have only been 6 genuine cases of faults (bad soldering, component failure etc) out of thousands of genuine happy customers who return again and again.
Don’t expect it to compete with a dmx cat or any other tester - you pay a premium price for them and they are great to use (until someone borrows steals or loses them) hence this budget priced tester has probably outsold all others as its a basic quick test that doesn’t cost the earth and is easy to use stand alone.

Read the review on ebay to see the difference between the single, twin and three l.e.d. versions available and why you should keep the terminator circuit seperate for accurate fault diagnosis - you will clearly see that this version is by far superior.

This is the tester that the professionals use to determine faults with dmx circuits, i have been making and supplying them for over 15 years and have made hundreds of them.
Works with any desk, dimmer or light that uses dmx including Avolites, high-end, martin, clay paky, coemar, vari*lite, pulsar to name but a few.
The tester is a 3-pin xlr and has three l.e.d.s displaying the varied faults.
Basically all 3 led's on and/or flashing is good.
The red and green led's show the positive and negative poles of the data stream, the yellow led shows the earth insulation and the refresh rate of the data stream.
Arguably one of the best on the market for the price and i supply these regularly to freelance touring crews from theatre's, academy's to stadiums.

This explains the benefits of using 3 l.e.d. testers rather than single or dual l.e.d. testers as these ones do far more.
Also not having a termination circuit in the tester allows better fault finding - we also sell terminators in our other adverts...

They also work with reversed Dmx protocols such as Pulsar (PMX), and Martin (RS 485)
I have a number of these made up ready, i have stopped using Neutrik but use a substitute connector of equal quality instead.
The tester supplied in this auction does not terminate the signal, it is used only to test the dmx signal, terminators and testers are two seperate items and you can find more faults without combining the two.
This has been made clear on this auction so remember you are bidding to win, if your not sure which product you need email me and i will tell you what you need and explain the differences further.
Equivalent products available from other manufacturers are more expensive than my price - take for example the artistic license line-light which is £26 for 3-pin and £29 for 5-pin and is arguably not as good in practice.
The saving is obvious, the proof is in the technical performance!
To answer a frequently asked question: I can supply 5-pin testers - see my other auctions, they do cost £2 more than the 3-pin as the connector costs more to buy.
They get fully tested before shipping, come with a months guarantee and so far there has been no returned ones or any un-happy customers who purchased one out of about 100 sold in the past year. Look at my feedback about these, generally my account is 100% positive anyway...
The price now is less than the price they were originally advertised for when i started selling them on ebay, this is to keep them competitively priced to sell.
