This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster has a baluster shaped form onto a spreading domed foot.
The body of this large caster is embellished with impressive embossed and chased floral and scrolling leaf decoration, incorporating three scroll bordered cartouches; two feature a scale motif diaper pattern background and the other remains vacant.
The silver caster retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, embellished with impressive panels of pierced decoration amidst scrolling floral spray and trellis decoration.
The cover is surmounted by impressive sterling silver flame style finial.
The surface of the foot is encircled with a fine scalloped decorated border.
ConditionThis antique sugar caster is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The chased and embossed decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Edwardian silverware.
