This beautiful hand painted dish dates around 1875-1911. (I am not an expert on dishes, but the marking used after 1911 has the name Crown Devon) It pictures hand painted pink and pale yellow/orange peonies. It has gold on the rim and the handles.  There are a few black marks as seen in the photos on the underside.  No cracks or chips. This is a matte finish on the outside and gloss on the inside.

The company name S.F.&co  (S. Fielding) and mark is on the bottom along with the pattern Royal Sussex.  It also has a number painted a18 and the word MeLLON pressed into the pottery. The Fieldings' pottery produced a wide variety of ornamental wares in dozens of different patterns and shapes. The so-called Royal patterns are their better designs and they were marked usually with lion on crown back stamp.
