Try measuring the circumference going around the chin area to the top of the back of your head following your cheeks as shown in the pictures.

In the event of an emergency, the last thing you want is a loose fitting gas mask.
Gas Masks are made to fit Snug and tight, leaving ABSOLUTELY NO room in the back of the head or around neck area.
When measuring, choose the exact size.
NEVER purchase the next size up.

Wrap the tape measure tightly around your head as shown. DO NOT ADD to your final measurement.
When you receive your mask and try it on, it will feel hard to put on or it will feel really tight.
Don't worry if it's a struggle to put on because it's supposed to be a struggle to put on. It will stretch and it's supposed to fit tight.
Gas masks MUST prevent leakage from entering the covered area, thus comes the tight fit.
You should have NO gaps for a correct fit
Tip:
Remember that smaller sizes will not
stretch or fit a large adult head but the small & medium adult size will fit a toddler or
infants head
and in survival, we are taught that adding military duct tape or Polyken can be
used to wrap around and
seal gaps for those with a smaller heads when
using an adult GP5 Civil Gas Mask.
This comes in handy with children younger than 7-10 years old.
