Nakatsugawa is the birthplace of Kurikinton, a famous confectionery representing the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture. We are committed to domestically produced and additive-free products, and are available in 13 countries and regions around the world, delivering the traditional taste of Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture. The chestnuts grown by the producers with great care are carefully turned into chestnut kinton by the craftsmen. The round, cute, and simple shape is also unique to this traditional sweet that has been passed down since the Edo period.
[Using 100% domestically produced chestnuts] Shinkido's Kurikinton is made from 100% domestically produced chestnuts mainly from Ehime and Kumamoto prefectures. Chestnuts begin to participate from the moment you put the knife into the chestnut. Therefore, we only use fresh chestnuts that have been processed and then frozen. We use sugar produced in Hokkaido to bring out the natural sweetness of chestnuts. By using all additive-free domestic raw materials, we continue to ensure safety and security.
[How to serve] Kurikinton will be delivered frozen. Thaw and enjoy. You can enjoy it deliciously by thawing it at room temperature for about 5 to 6 hours. *Please consume within 24 hours after thawing.
