This listing is for an easy to make up card decal accent kit (not a building kit) which has been designed for the minimum of fuss but the maximum result for your layout or diorama. Printed on to top quality 160 GSM card using the best inks so that you can be sure that these decals will stand the test of time.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: All of our decal kits need to be assembled, but before this can be done the decals will need to be carefully removed from the sheet by cutting them away one by one with a craft knife, scalpel or fine scissors. Where you see TAB there will also be a score line accompanied by two identical letters e.g. A-A and this means the line from letter to letter will need to be lightly scored with a straight metal rule and red indicator lines at each end should make this easier to facilitate. Once the line has been scored and the decal itself has been removed from the sheet the TAB must be bent back and using your glue of choice it can then be fixed in place. You will see TAB on the edges of most of our window displays and also with our pavement awnings; in the case of the latter there may also be two more letters e.g. B-B where you'll need to lightly score a second line so that the front of the awning may be bent down to form an apron. Red indicator lines can also be found on our "A-board" decals and as with the other decals you'll need to lightly score from one red line to the other so that the decal can be folded in half once it's been removed from the sheet. Please understand that no glue or tools are included to make up our decal kits and all of the items we sell are intended for adults and not children and the kits require accurate and careful assembly especially when using knives and scissors.
We have designed a series of kits which can be used to add the graphic design detail elements required when making up some of the key buildings within your WW2 OO gauge townscape. This specific kit will provide sufficient decals for embellishing and decorating the facade of one Boots The Chemist and can either be used on your own scratch built construction or you can use it in conjunction with a donor Superquick building like we have here, adding our decals to replace theirs; the last photo shows our donor building before we converted it.
We think this is a great way of recycling and repurposing tired buildings which can often be sourced ready built and for very little cost.
Many Boots outlets used old buildings like these and it wasn't until the 1950's and 60's that their branding moved away from the very old styling we see here to a more modern look. As with almost all shops of this period, the window awnings you see on our model were everywhere and food shops always used awnings to protect the window displays from excess heat and sun damage to the stock.
