White Raven is pleased to offer this stunning Victorian antique 14K Yellow Gold, hand-carved White Lava Stone Cameo Brooch.  This piece is quite large at about 2" long and it weighs approximately 19.4g!  The figure appears female to me, perhaps a Roman Goddess?  Perhaps Venus?  She is in high relief and has Leaves in her hair.  She is holding a bird, most likely a Dove and, unfortunately, it's head appears to be broken off (difficult to see, my pricing does reflect condition however).  There are no sharp edges, it appears it broke years ago.  I understand much of the white lava stone is from Pompeii and this would fit with an Italian theme.  It has an older Safety Clasp and is unmarked, which is not unusual for this time period.  It has been acid tested and is guaranteed, to be 14K Gold.  Other than the above mentioned blemish, this brooch is in very good antique condition.   Please view photos for a more complete description, and email should you have questions.  This item will ship fully insured via USPS Ground Advantage.
