2023 75th Birthday Sovereign Reverse
The reverse of this special edition coin features the instantly-recognisable image of St George in the act of slaying a prone dragon. This historic design is the work of Benedetto Pistrucci whose initials appear to the right of the date (2023).
Struck On The Day Sovereign Specifications
So-called 'Struck On The Day' Sovereigns conform to the same general specifications as other 'full' Sovereigns. They are struck in 7.98 grams of 91.67% gold with a diameter of 22.05 millimetres. What distinguishes these coins is a fine Brilliant Uncirculated (BUnc) finish and a distinctive frosted appearance to both obverse and reverse.
