S e c r e t s

A variety of animals are all crowded into a single pen, representative of the inhumane conditions on a large-scale “factory” farm. A conveyor belt carries away the final products. “Methane Zone” indicates the contribution toward global warming. “No Smoking” warns of the dangers of igniting lingering gases. The word “war” is written under a cow’s mouth and “Dolly” is the name of the world’s first cloned mammal. Written on the back of the conveyor is “22 day,” the length of time Peter’s New Year’s resolution lasted this year. On the interior, a chicken acts out a scene from “The Great Escape,” starring Steve McQueen as Virgil Hilts. The plate from the motorcycle he rides in the film is at the chicken’s feet (Stalag luft 11 was the name of the prison). The mouse peers out from between a cow’s hooves. On the underside of the same hooves is “Sam” a reference to the artist’s young son, and “?” because a second name will soon be needed for a new arrival, due around September 7. The bird with “36” inside it represents the number of bird species Peter has spotted in his garden. Limited Edition of 3600 signed and numbered pieces worldwide.
