Notes on battery and accumulator disposal Since we dispose of batteries and accumulators or If you sell such devices that contain batteries and accumulators, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to point out the following to you: Batteries and accumulators may not be disposed of with household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators. Used batteries can contain harmful substances that, if not stored or disposed of properly, can harm the environment or your health. Batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and are recycled. After use, you can either send the batteries back to us or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in stores or at municipal collection points). Batteries or accumulators that contain harmful substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed out garbage can. The chemical name of the pollutant is located near the symbol. Cd = battery or Battery contains cadmium Pb = battery or Battery contains lead Hg = battery or Battery contains mercury Li = battery or Battery contains lithium Ni = rechargeable battery or Battery contains nickel Zi = battery or Battery contains zinc Mh = battery or Battery contains metal hydride You can also find this information in the documents accompanying the goods shipment or in the manufacturer's operating instructions.
