PCGS authenticated and graded G6. Mostly glossy medium chocolate brow, sharper on the obverse than the reverse, as usual for this variety. Mostly smooth with some very fine roughness in some fields and protected areas on the obverse. No verdigris, only a few minor marks including a narrow planchet void along the dentils from K-6 to K-9, as struck, a rim bruise left of the cap, and to hairline scratches below AT in STATES. About two thirds of hte stars remain visible, strongest along the left side of the reverse. LDS, Breen STate III, with obvious swelling on hte reverse. Tied for CC#27 i nthe Noyes census, his phot #24302. Pete Smith (The Story of the Starred Reverse Cent) #6-C where he called it "G6, perhaps underrated because of the late die state". An attractive exmaple of this rare and popular Redbook variety.
