1940 Miguel Covarrubias Pictorial Map of the United States in its Original Frame.

Covarrubias was an artist, enthologist, and an anthropologist. He was born in Mexico City in 1902 into a very distinguished family with his father being a diplomat. He youth was divided between Mexico City, New York, and many Foreign lands. In 1923 he moved to New York and in the following yrs published 2 books, illustrated another, designed costumes, drew hundreds of caricatures, and published sketches for the New Yorker and Vanity Fair.

Among his many famous works he gained world wide fame from his six mural maps of the various places in the pacific along with this map of the US.

His works along with his maps are becoming more rare by the day.

This beautiful map depicts the USA from his viewpoint in 1940 with the map depicting the many wonders of the US. From the fruits and Red Wood of California, to the lobsters in Maine, to the Native Americans in New Mexico. The map is highly detailed and in good shape for its age.
