Antique Graduated Carnelian and Rock Crystal Necklace with 9ct Gold Clasp and Rock Crystal Spacers
A chance to acquire a genuine Art Deco Carnelian long Flapper Necklace with a gorgeous unmarked gold barrel clasp and rock crystal spacers. Each of the 43 natural carnelians are of a rich orangey red colour, with natural colour variation, but well matched. Exquisitely cut and polished, into a rounded barrel shape, and ranging between 8mm and 20mm in length, the carnelians are strung on white silk, and separated by faceted rock crystal beads, with a small knot between each bead enabling great movement and fluidity. The carnelians are polished smooth, and graduate gently from about 8mm x 5mm near the clasp to 20mm x 10mm. The rock crystal spacers are also graduated, and the overall effect is very pleasing to both the eye and the touch. Closure is by means of a stamped 9ct gold spring ring and loop, which is in excellent working order.
