Robert Steven Bane has been a Fine Art Publisher for 40 years representing a distinguished group of artists that he has exclusively published & represented throughout his long extensive career as a fine art dealer.
Artists that he has exclusively represented include important names like Aldo Luongo, Fabian Perez, Eyvind Earle, Walter Girotto, Mel Ramos, Olivia de Berardinis, Ronnie Cutrone, Robert Williams, Lorenzo Sperlonga, John Hul, Charles Bell, and Vicente Romero.
He has designed and published two coffee table books on Eyvind Earle whom he exclusively represented for over 10 years, three coffee table books on Fabian Perez who Robert exclusively represented for 15 years and numerous publications on Olivia de Berardinis whom he represented for over 20 years. Robert published over 500 hand-signed and numbered different limited editions over the span of 4 decades. Publishing serigraphs, lithographs, aquatints, Giclees, Continuous tone lithography, and Stone Lithography.
Today Robert Bane is most fortunate to represent one of the most spectacular artists he ever met, Spanish pastel master Vicente Romero, Robert currently has the exclusive on the extraordinary work of this internationally acclaimed museum Artist.
Robert has organized and curated over 220 One Man Exhibitions world-wide, having major exhibitions held in Miami, New York, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Hawaii, Beverly Hills, London, Scotland, Japan, China, Australia, throughout the United Kingdom, on international cruise ships, and many private events at his wife’s gallery The legendary Tamara Bane Gallery on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles California. The 5,000 square foot gallery was home to Roberts international wholesale publishing company Robert Bane Editions.
Robert and Tamara hosted over 40 extravagant & Glamorous Opening Exhibitions and Special Events at their gallery for his artists and collectors who flew in from around the world to attend the openings, People lined up 100 deep to attend the events.
Robert’s education began at the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City. In 1977 he moved to Los Angeles, California where he currently resides with his wife Tamara, his two wonderful sons, and the family’s four dogs.
In 2023 Robert will begin to write his memoirs on his 50-year journey navigating through the turbulence and the excitement of the inner workings of the Fine Art Publishing business. He will explore the extraordinary experiences, the people he met, the glamour, the art of selling and marketing that was his signature talent, and the madness, sadness, and wild encounters along the way.
The Autobiography of an art Publisher is planned to be released in 24 months. The final title is reserved for the pre-release date in early 2026.
In his entire career as an international art publisher gallery owner, Robert never exhibited his personal artwork with the public. Robert has decided on the occasion of his 72st Birthday that he would like to share his art, his creativity, and his experience in his inner dimensional art.
Each original drawing is done with a great sense of spirituality, love of friends, and family. The drawings are created with the idea of the viewer being able to take some quiet time to study the shapes and colors which are warm and inviting, a moment of tranquility, meditation, focus and inner peace.
At age 72 Robert celebrates his career with his first collection of original color pencil drawings.
Each original drawing is hand-signed by the artist on the reverse of the art board with the date and title of the artwork..
Robert says that when it comes to creating art there are no rules, one gets to express themselves with personal meaning and visual freedom.
