I picked this frame up years ago, and it's taken a few years to build. Total barn find in EUC. 19.5" C-C 21" C-T The only thing that came with it was the original derailleurs, and bottom bracket. A few scratches, here and there, but nothing major. In 89 it was just SHIMANO Deore that was top of the line. As I found parts, I added to the build. So this bike has original Deore, some Deore XT, and DX parts. The stem, bars, seat post, headset are stock Specialized, They came from another smaller Rockhopper Comp. The Biopace chainrings, SLR 4 finger brake levers, Hyperglide cassette, and Deore friction/index shifters are from the same smaller blue/white 89 Rockhopper Comp. The XT cranks, XT cantilever brakes are from a 1991 Stumpjumper Comp. The wheelset is new old stock from around 88-89 with DX hubs and ceramic Araya RM-17 rims. You can find old Araya catalogs, and they recommend 2.0 max tires, but I had 2.1 gravel kings on them, and they were fine. At this point they only have around 20 miles on them. All the cables and housing are new. The pink brake housing was leftover from another Specialized build, and the yellow shifter from a Litespeed road bike build. The bottom bracket was cleaned and repacked with new bearings. The fork is a new Sunlite that I repainted bone white and used three coats of 2k clear. If you don't know, look it up. It's $30 a can, and it will not scratch, or chip easily. The tires are new Panaracer Pasellas 1.75. New Vans OD grips. The chain is a no name from Amazon that also only has around 20 miles. The saddle is a vintage brown suede Specilaized Lambda that feels a little firm, but overall is good to go. The pedals are rockbro clones I pulled off another bike. The only thing this might need is new brake pads. Maybe some that are ceramic specific, but not necessary. All the major components(minus the wheelset) are used and have some signs of wear, but work 100%. There will be scratches, and scuffs or stickers missing, but they do what they are intended to do.
