The Sony MDS-JA555ES is a killer piece both in terms of sound quality and construction.

The JA555ES is arguably the best minidisc deck ever made while the JA333ES comes close. It is designed to make the use of the Sony's latest version of ATRAC, the enabling technology for the whole MiniDisc format.

The Sony MDS-JA555ES has phenomenal sound quality that is difficult to differentiate from CD playback. It is very difficult to hear difference between a minidisc recorded with the MDS-JA555ES and the original source.
