To exclude terms, you can specifically exclude certain words by using the minus symbol. This is an important tool since many sellers add unrelated terms in item specifics to increase their item exposure. Using the search “429 SCJ” -GM will remove the items that have GM in item specifics. You may find that further refinement of the search is required. If searching a Ford part number, do not use the suffix. Often times the suffix changed but the part design and function did not. In 1970 the US enacted price controls. This has a significant impact on part numbers since current part inventories could not have price increases. To overcome the problem, part numbers were updated by changing the suffix or by updating the part number year code to reflect the year in use.
