****Notice****

Frustrated with searching for items on eBay trying to find the Ford part you need? These simple rules perhaps will help you find what you are looking for.

To capture an exact phrase use quotes around the phrase, “Term1 Term2”.  This must be in the correct order that you are looking for.  i.e. “429 SCJ”

To exclude terms, you can specifically exclude certain words by using the minus symbol.  This is an important tool since many sellers add unrelated terms in item specifics to increase their item exposure.  Using the search “429 SCJ” -GM will remove the items that have GM in item specifics. You may find that further refinement of the search is required. As you review your search you will find items that do not apply to your needs like the year 1958 or Nash.  A quick review of the listings item specifics will provide you with the clues to add additional -XX to your search.  Once you have established the search that meets your needs be sure hit “Save this search” located below the search box.

For NOS parts the best way is to search is to use the year code as the primary search.  Depending on the decade this is the first 3 or 4 alpha numeric characters.  To further refine your search add additional descriptors or use the suggestions above.

If searching a Ford part number, do not use the suffix. Often times the suffix changed but the part design and function did not. In 1970 the US enacted price controls. This has a significant impact on part numbers since current part inventories could not have price increases.  To overcome the problem, part numbers were updated by changing the suffix or by updating the part number year code  to reflect the year in use.

We hope this helps.
