My opinions on the lens -

When it comes to bokeh, in my eyes, nothing beats the good ol' soap bubble kind, they're what got me into vintage glass (originally the trioplan 50 2.9) and so when i saw this lens and some results, i knew it was something i had to modify 🧑‍🔬

I know the 100mm trioplan has a big cult following, but ive never tried one due to its insane prices, so here i present one at a much much more reasonable price 😉

Firstly, the bokeh!! The round, lush, gorgeous, defined bokeh balls are the standout characteristic in this lens, they make the image better when used in the right circumstances, and sometimes you dont need that much light to get the effect 🤓

The colors are nice and full - there is a bit of blue-ish color in the shadows i noticed, and some abberations on reflective surfaces against bright light, but isn't too detracting

Contrast is low-ish, but can be fixed in-post if need be. Also, black and white images look fantastic with the amount of contast the lens produces

Flare resistance is interesting, there are flares and they can be pretty harsh, but at the right angles, it was like i was being sent an angel from above, it had that kind of a "sunrays" kind of feel 🌄

This lens in comparison to the 100mm trioplan also has a whopping 30cm closer focusing distance, its also much lighter & shorter.

Take that trioplan!! 👊
