Fair condition.  Salesmen's copy.  Tips are bumped.  Binding intact.  Small chip in cloth on front board towads lower right.  Gilt highlighting on front board.  Some wear on headcap and tail but no binding is exposed.  Contains examples of choice of bindings on front pastedown.  Leather binding sample has imprinted on endpapers.  Prior ownership by The Portage Co. Historical Society, Ravenna, Ohio, stamped on endpaper.  Illustrations throughout.  Toning and sparse age-staining throughout text block.  Contains order sheets at rear of text block, but only headings are present.  The Punishment of the Wicked illustration has small rip at the bottom.  Page between aforementioned illustration and Part IX appears to have been torn out.  Advert present in rear of text block containing info for potential salesmen.  Please see photos.

Rev. J.H. (James Henry) Potts (1848 - 1942) is the author of numerous religious texts, many related to the Methodist movement.  The Golden Dawn is one of Potts's most culturally significant texts.
