For sale is a rare first state/first edition, in One Volume, of Oliver Twist, by Charles Dickens. Published by Bradbury and Evans, London, 1846. With a full suite of plates by George Cruikshank. Collated as complete. Tall 8vo.

Bound in the publisher’s original cloth; the spine lettered and tooled in gilt, covers panelled in blind, gilt garland to front cover, repeated in blind to rear cover, light yellow-coated endpapers.

Smart bookplate of the original owner to the front pastedown.

Externally it remains in most pleasing condition throughout. The cloth fresh and the gilt also. The hinges remain very firm. Occasional extraneous rubbing and small losses.

Internally, save the odd spot of browning in places, it remains in beautifully clean and bright order.

Overall, this wonderful volume comes very highly recommended indeed; it is the earliest possible printing of the first edition in One-Volume of this famous work, and will add greatly to any collection.
