Description: Tyrone Power, Gene Tierney and Anne Baxter star in this adaptation of Somerset Maugham's famous philosophical novel. American WWI pilot Larry Darrell (Power) grows increasingly delusional at the slaughter he witnessed during his years of service and struggles to integrate into the life of high society that his fiancée Isabel Bradley (Tierney) is part of. As they break off their engagement Larry travels to Paris and then India where he seeks enlightenment away from the values of modern society.
