Fair condition.  Signficant redrot on front and rear boards.  Tips are bumped with exposed board.  Binding exposed at tail of both volumes.  Gilt on fore edges still intact.  Spine is cracked and scuffed but still legible.  Slight toning throughout textblock with some instances of finger-staining.  Binding intact.  Small rips at the bottom of certain pages, supposedly from use.  No known marginalia.  Please see photos.

Hubert Howe Bancroft (May 5, 1832 - March 2, 1918) was an American historian and ethnologist who wrote, published, and collected works concerning the western United States, Texas, California, Alaska, Mexico, Central America, and British Columbia.  Hubert's The Book of the Fair details the 1893 World's Fair and includes hundreds of photos of exhibits.
