Philippe Vandermaelen (December 23, 1795 – May 29, 1869) was a Belgian geographer and cartographer who made significant contributions to the field of cartography. He is best known for his "Atlas universel" (Universal Atlas), a six-volume atlas of the world that was published in 1827.
Vandermaelen's most famous work is his "Atlas universel". This atlas was published in six volumes in 1827, and it contained over 380 maps of the world.
