On offer is a very rare Fortis Spacematic from the 1960s. The Spacematic was gifted to US astronauts by the company during the golden days of the space race. The watch was designed to be shock resisting and extra well sealed, boasting an original water resistance of 25 atm.

This watch has not been serviced, and I can't remove the caseback so I can't photograph the movement. However, it is a 21 jewel automatic, and it is ticking. I have not tried to wind it too much (it does appear to be windable), as it should be serviced. The time can be changed. There're some little cracks around the edge of the crystal and a new one would improve the cosmetics. The dial is very well preserved, including the lettering. The crown is original. The strap is not original. For a 25 atm automatic with date, the watch is impressively thin at only 10mm. Of course, as this is a vintage unserviced piece, I can make no guarantee on timekeeping, sealing, or the movement generally - like I said it should be serviced, it would be well worth it. The case is stainless steel and unpolished.

The box is the original one, it bears the name of the local retailer, and has a space theme with glitter and stars in the plastic, making this a very special combination. This piece would be an excellent mid century addition to any vintage watch collection, it is truly very hard to let go.
