Less than three thousand of these watches were supplied by Germany to France in the early 1950s as war reparations, each marked 'ARMEE FRANCAISE' ( ie French Army ) and numbered. This one is numbered 15xx. Stainless steel case 33 mm in diameter, 17-jewel manual winding wound movement, black dial marked ‘STOWA 17 RUBIS SHOCKPROOF’, screwed caseback marked 'ARMEE FRANCAISE 15xx'. The watch comes with a two-piece green strap.

Some of these watches must therefore have been worn by French soldiers in Indochina and Algeria.
