The Rubaiyat of Umar Khayyam, or the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, is a work that translates a number of Quatrains attributed to Omar Khayyam, first published by Edward Fitzgerald (1809-1883) in 1859. This work has been well regarded since it was first published, and this piece in particular is a translation of the French text written by Jean Baptiste Nicolas (1814 - 1875), translated into English by Frederick Rolfe (1860-1913). This piece includes a reprint of the French text along with the translated English, and would be an excellent find for anyone interested in the poetry of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
