HISTORY: The Dark Knight is a 2008 superhero
film directed by Christopher Nolan
from a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother Jonathan. Based on the DC Comics
superhero Batman, it is the sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and the second
installment of The Dark Knight Trilogy. In the film's plot, vigilante superhero
Batman, Police Lieutenant James
Gordon, and District Attorney Harvey Dent form an alliance to take down
organized crime in Gotham City, but their efforts are thwarted by the
intervention of an anarchist mastermind. , the
Joker, who seeks to prove how far Batman will go to save the city from
total chaos. Five years after the events of the first film in the trilogy, a gang of robbers disguised as clown masks
carry out a violent robbery at one of Gotham City's mafia banks, but the
robbers are unaware that among them are the person who hired them, the Joker (Heath Ledger), who had
ordered them to betray and murder each other, in order to distribute the loot
among less. Finally, the Joker murdered the last of his accomplices and escapes
in a school bus camouflaged in a caravan of school buses that curiously passed
through the area, before the Gotham City police arrive at the scene.
