This is a very cool book that I have owned for 30 years. Anyone interested in model cars or Mid-century car design will appreciate the the honest nostalgia of this book from an era before transistor radios and mass-produced, store-bought hobbies. From full-scale automotive industry clay bucks to tethered race cars and Do-it-Yourself projects in between, it's a fun read. It appears the author likely worked in the model / illustration field as his model schematics are works of art, particularly the Ferrari and Firebird concept car. This appears as well to be a rather rare first edition from 1956. A later edition came out in the 1970's that also featured slot cars. The condition of the book has suffered somewhat from water / dampness damage, particularly the front and back boards and first couple of pages. One interior page has a tear, but overall the pages are in good shape and the binding is solid. Measures 6 x 9 inches, 190 pages.
