As it’s impossible to source the original ford puma parcel shelf brackets I have designed some which I am using on my daily with no issues. I still have the original brackets but I am using these anyway just to validate what I am selling. Please read on.

What you will receive;

- You will receive 3 brackets in total. This is because i noticed when i was using my parcel shelf as a template, where the stitching is on the parcel shelf it overlaps to make it thicker. Not all will be like this so i have put one extra bracket in with a bigger hole to compensate, this might not be required. (2 x 7mm holes + 1 x 8.5mm hole)

- 4 Inserts (2 Spare). These inserts pop into the socket for the ball joint. Just slide in with it sloping up towards the clip to make it push further in.

- 3 plastic bushes which will be fitted already to the brackets. These give a nice tight fit to the plastic flimsy trim which original parcel shelf clips into. The bush them allows the new bracket to spin freely when the boot is opening and closing.

- 4 x 20mm C clips to fit onto the parcel shelf after the brackets are fitted on either side (This acts as a stop to reduce sliding).

Please take a look at the photos as if it is replicated it will work with no issues. I have designed everything so it is a tight fit.

Please bare in mine these brackets have been made using my parcel shelf as a template. So any feedback would be very greatful!

Why go to Ford and pay them for brackets which shouldn't have a fault in the first place? When my brackets failed the first time they said it was £18 for new brackets?!? And they still failed.

Installation Steps;

Remove parcel shelf out of the boot.

Fit a insert to each socket which locates onto the ball joint. Fit with the slope going up towards the socket (Bottom to top).

Work out if your stitching overlaps where the bracket needs to be fitted (See if the larger one is required)

Make sure bushes are fitted to the brackets and are pushed down fully with the thicker end ontop of the bracket (Fit bracket where old ones were, Just under where the dip in the parcel shelf is).

Fit C clip directly under the bracket (This will hold it upright).

Take parcel shelf to car and start with clipping on the LH + RH Ball joint clips (You should her a audible click now as its a tighter clip.

Clip LH Bracket into the clip on the tailgate. Make sure the thick end of the bush is on the inside of the clip. When you push the bracket into place make sure your also pushing up on the flimsy clip on the original ford boot trim.

Do exactly the same on the RH Bracket. Make sure the bush is on the inside of the clip before pressing down.

Shut the boot. Job done.

Tips;

When unclipping the shelf from the boot lid trim don't pull as it puts pressure on the fragile trim clips. It comes off better when knocked up from the bottom end of the parcel shelf. Less pressure is applied to the area.

Look at pictures in the listing if unsure.

Ask me questions.

Don't use to much force.

All parts are designed and printed by me out of PETG filament. This is a filament which deals well with heat and retains its shape I.e. Doesn't deform over time. The material is flexible to and extent, but it will snap if too much force is applied as it is plastic.
