This is a vintage, fixed aperture slide projector lens which i have modified 🤓

(sample images have been lightly edited in lightroom)

Name of Lens Block - Triar - 3

Mount - M42

Filter Size - NA

Fullframe, crop or film - All

Focal Length - 85mm

Aperture - F2.8

Focal Range - Approx 73cm to infinity

Weight - 289 grams

Condition of Lens Block - 8.5/10, some minor dust spots but doesn't affect images whatsoever, also i didnt clean up the epoxy glue on the lens when modifying it, so cosmetically its less than ideal 🙃

My opinions on the lens -

Well i was very taken back by the Triar 3, it took me by surprise when i had some bright afternoon sunlight, which created some vivid rainbow flares that were so angelic and gorgeous! As well as this, i notice some nice little sunrays too ☀

I was thoroughly excited to keep testing..

So once i continued testing, i found that this lens seems to excel in all areas really, the sharpness levels are good with some glow around the focal point which I'd imagine to be perfect for "people" photography, street or portraits

I also love the bokeh which blends in with the overall photo and doesn't overtake the main subject too much; i find the bokeh is quite smooth and the transition from in-out of focus areas is done quite well in most situations 👌

In black and white, we have another fine performer too! Bonus 🥳
