The software is not usable from within Windows or any other operating system and the media may also appear to be blank because most operating systems aren't able to read the content. The software is a standalone Operating system that will only work if you boot from it, so you need to know how to boot your computer from either a DVD or USB flash drive.
The contents of the media aren't really that important as it just duplicates the media so the software would allow you to do many things including:
