The Dukeries, how it used to be in 1940.  This is a one inch to the mile Ordnance Survey Second War Revision map on paper.  The condition is good, generally a very clear map.   Use of acid free paper means that there are no discoloured areas.  This has the war time Cassini grid marked on top of it with spacing at 5/8 inch.  This is the grid that was used in official documents in WW2. They would have been used by all the Home Guard groups and internal planning.  The map was published at the War Office.  Sensitive structures have been removed but old entrenchments are visible on some presumably from the WW1 either as possible defence or training.  These either framed or laminated make an ideal wall decoration and give an idea of how much building has taken place.   Ideal for re-enactors. 83 years old, once these old maps have disappeared into collections and become very difficult to find, the value will climb..
