You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them. We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... GIBSON 1976 LES PAUL 'TOBACCO BURST' STANDARD Super rare 1976 'GENUINE SPECIAL ORDER STANDARD' from the Kalamazoo factory, complete with original Gibson case. Very few factory Standards from the mid 70s were ever made, as the Standard never came back into production until 1978. So Gibson offered as a 'special order' guitar, the Les Paul Deluxe but with a factory 'Standard' configuration featuring the twin humbuckers - VERY FEW WERE EVER MADE, AND FINDING ONE IS SUPER RARE.... Many players did this pick-up modification 'after market' to their Deluxes and routed out the cavities and they look similar, but THIS is a genuine factory made example- It is stunning. *Note- you can check this is genuine by taking the pickups out and you'll see the finish goes into the cavities, proving it was routed in manufacture then sprayed. Most had plain truss covers, but this has a genuine 'Standard' one fitted. The Rich tobacco sunburst finish is pure classic, golden to brown- it's as good as it gets! THIS GUITAR IS ALL 100% ORIGINAL, VIRTUALLY KEPT IN IT'S CASE FROM 1976 WITH VERY LITTLE USE Therefore very minor signs of wear anywhere! The frets are original, tucked, and in amazing shape. Just a couple of tiny little dents on the back and thats it. WE CAN SAFELY SAY THIS GUITAR IS NEAR MINT CONDITION & THE ORIGINAL CASE ALSO IS IN SUPERB CONDITION WITH NO ISSUES. We have seen so few genuine ones to price it accordingly , so we took expert advice from a close friend who runs a VERY well known London Guitar emporium.. they have told us that the price we are asking is extremely fair, especially considering the condition...and it will only soar in value. AGAIN, WE STRESS THIS GUITAR IS OUTSTANDING IN EVERY SINGLE WAY. UPDATE; We've had some questions about the back of the headstock- Its a plectrum thats been wedged between the machine heads! no idea why but as its all authentic we have left it there- nothing sinister i assure you! THE GUITAR WAS OWNED BY GREG HART OF 'CATS IN SPACE' - IT FEATURES ON THE 'KICKSTART THE SUN' ALBUM.
