Here we have a very beautiful Sterling Silver Trophy, made by Mappin & Webb
from London. Beautifully crafted, this trophy is not inscribed, so you can use it
as is, or have your own dedication inscribed. Due its elegant format, it also can
be used as a tray for anything you want.
Correctly Hallmarked with lion certifying sterling silver 925%. Leopard face for
London city, "P" for 1910 year of manufacture and "Mappin & Webb" for
makers.
In 1775, when Jonathan Mappin opened a workshop in Sheffield. His mission was
to create the most beautifully crafted silverware for British society. Over the
immediate years that followed this would see the company expand internationally,
receive Royal Warrants and commissions from Monarchs around the world, and
become synonymous with excellence, craftsmanship and all things truly British.
This particularly peace was made in 1910 under an era of great expansion from
"Mappin & Webb, attested by International Store expansion in Buneos Aires, Paris,
Lausanne, Nice, Vichy, Rome, Cairo, Shanghai and Biarritz, Hong Kong and Mumbai
(formerly called Bombay). These were 3 decades(1902-1932) of knowledge
enrichment and great success.
Mappin & Webb still exists, and is a reference in fine jewellery.
