The Ingics iGS01S is a bridge to connect local Bluetooth (BLE) devices, sensors, tags and beacons to servers or API endpoints on the internet via a local WiFi network.

Through a simple web UI interface, you can easily configure the iGS01S device’s internet connection to allow data to flow from Bluetooth devices within range to a general cloud service, like TCP, HTTP(S), or MQTT, for example a web API or an AWS IoT service endpoint.

Configurability without the need for firmware programming sets this device apart from other devices in the category.

Management through the cloud to the BLE devices becomes simple through iGS01S.  This guide is to help the user to operate and configure the iGS01S.  https://beacongateway.com/pdf/Beacon%20Gateway%20-%20User%20Guide.pdf.

Each unit for sale includes a package of one iGS01S unit (white), one 1M USB cable (white), one AC110-240V/1A Wall Charger Adapter USB Charging Block (white, USA plug type), one 2dBi dipole antenna (white) and one wall mounting bracket (white) included in one full shipping package.  Multiple units purchased can be combined into a single shipment.

iGS01S is powered by a standard micro-USB cable (included), rated at 5V/500mA.  You can power this device with the included wall charger adapter or the USB port of any host device that can support 500mA or above.

For the WiFi connection, the iGS01S provides two modes: Access Point (AP) mode and Station mode.

In AP mode, it acts as a simple AP supporting DHCP.  The main purpose of AP mode is for gateway configuration via a web browser.

The iGS01S gateway also supports using a WiFi router’s WPS button, making connecting the iGS01S to the local WiFi network as simple as pressing the WPS button on the router, then pressing the WPS button on the gateway. The WiFi security credentials are automatically passed to and stored on the gateway using this method.

In Station mode, the iGS01S is a client device that joins to a nearby WiFi access point router.  After joining the WiFi network, the iGS01S gateway can connect Bluetooth (BLE) devices to a local TCP server or a cloud service for data transfer and device management.

Applications include Internet of Things (IoT) data collection from Bluetooth-connected sensors, Bluetooth tags/beacons and Bluetooth-enabled appliances, including measuring signal strength and proximity sensing.

Any Bluetooth message broadcast by a BLE enabled device within range of the gateway can be forwarded. A filter can be configured in the device using the web interface to determine which messages should be forwarded to the backend service.
