"Alexius Huber (b. 1939) came as a trained designer to Scania from Germany in the 1960s. His artistic and ideological background was the Bauhaus School with its strong relationship between craft and art. This legacy also includes a belief in art as a human activity . Targeting and selection of materials has been very conscious. Here we find aluminum, stainless steel, acrylic glass, convex and concave metal mirrors, lights, sounds and even cardboard. relationship between the works and the viewer has Huber studied carefully in the processes that barely consciously guide our vision and our experiences. Whiteness, shiny surfaces, transparency, the carpet, the skuggbetäckta alloyed to something new, which still must be called painting. Was boundary between painting and sculpture goes in Huber's case is hard to say, especially as the feeling of lightness cancels plants weight.
Huber works in stainless steel and plexiglass is ljusfångare. The processing is refined until accuracy; with different cuts, grinds and polishes, he breaks up the surfaces to optical effects. Former transformed. Huber has shown these visual games in various public places, such as a ventilation tower in stainless steel for HSB Södertorp in Malmö and Bygghälsan in Malmö a nine meter high mobile in stainless steel, both in 1988. From the original pamphlet: Alexius Huber was born in Sweden in 1939. He still lives there and works in his studio at Södra Sandby.

His work has not only been exhibited in Sweden but also abroad. He has executed various government orders. Many important museums have exhibited his work, such as the Malmö Museum, the National Museum of Stockholm, the Archives of decorative Arts at Lund, the Kristianstads Art Museum, the Ystads Art Museum, the Helsingborgs Museum

etc. Alexius Huber is constructivist and works with reflecting metals and transparent glass membranes. He calls part of his work optical concepts and he combines in his work the constructivism and the

OP-art. The use of special steel and plexiglass has brilliant effects on his work and he tries to give new variations in experience with those materials. His artistic claim is completed by graphics and relief printings on thick paper or carton.
