Vintage retro DOS gaming - Intel i486DX2 66MHz
Before you buy, be sure that you understand MS-DOS and some old computer issues and know how to handle with old computer. Sometimes, it may happen some problems with running of old computer, but it doesn't mean that it is broken. All my computers are working before shipping and tested and some issues are mentioned here, I am maximally transparent with it.
Retro classic PC from 90'. Clean nice case.
Unit powers up and works, tested with running of some programs, computer seems to be stable.
Good visual condition. Some scratches on the metal and plastic case.
The metal cover is very thick and heavy.
Power source is cleaned from the dust and visually checked - capacitators look like good and keeps run good with balance.
- Unis has been cleaned!!
- Motherboards runs fine
- HDD tested and FDD tested - reads and formats disketten
- CD-ROM - OK, reads
- Sound card tested - works in MS-DOS with Unisound driver, original drivers need to be installed in Windows 95
- Network card - not tested
- COM1 - tested
Known issues:
- motherboard is repaired - not from me. The power regulator is little bit loose - I am not sure, if it works and if it is even soldered. But with this 5V CPU no problem. It may be problem during upgrade to faster 3,3V CPUS like DX4. Capacitor close to CPU will need to change, I had no similar at home.
- LED speed display - hard jumpered for 66MHZ, I has no manual for this model
- Turbo LED - not connected to the motherboard
- HDD - it has several bad blocks
- Sound card - works, but with Unisound, I did not managed to get sound from several games - for example Dune II.
PC comes from some workshop and it smells little after some mechanical lubricating oil. I have found some oil spills inside the power source and on several places in computer. I have no idea how it got inside the PC. I cleaned it, so now it is not greasy. PSU is finally changed, for another. This is the biggest issue, the odour.
Unit is sold as is, without peripherals.
