Large top quality Victorian hallmarked solid silver nurses belt buckle.
Made by Grey & Co with the full Birmingham hallmark with the date letter for 1894.
Cast silver decorated flowers and foliage, with an angel or cherub face with wings to the centre of each half.
Large size so more than likely for a matron or midwife with the cherub motifs.
Measures 5 1/8 inches 13 cm wide and 2 3/4 inches 7 cm tall.
The silver weight is 86 grams, a massive weigh for it's size.
Excellent condition, no damage or repairs to any part of the buckle.
Will be delivered in a tissue lined gift box.
