Authentic Type 3 Associated Press photograph of Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna, after winning the Belgian F1 Grand Prix for McLaren-Honda in 1991. Senna died on 1 May 1994, driving for the Williams team at the San Marino Grand Prix Formula One race in Imola, Italy.

This photo comes from a newspaper library where it was stored flat from its initial date of issue but will have been handled and is offered as-is. In some cases it will have writing and publication information on the back.

Type 1/I - first generation photograph developed from the original negative within 2 years of when the picture was taken. The most desirable and valuable of the four photograph types because of their vintage and originality.
Type 2/II - first generation photograph developed from the original negative more than 2 years after the picture was taken.
Type 3/III - second generation photograph developed from duplicate source for wire transmission. Commonly referred to as a "wire photo."
Type 4/IV - second generation photograph developed from duplicate source for wire transmission more than 2 years after the picture was taken. Type 4/IV photos are generally issued after 1970.
