Flower colour: blue

Foliage: green

What to do next:

Can it be planted out into the garden straight away or should I pot on first?

Yes, but not recommended - only if not likely to be swamped by other plants and is watered when necessary until established.

For best results, pot on and then plant out when it has doubled in size between April and late September.

Pot on into a 12cm diameter pot - March to October.

Ideally grow on in a greenhouse/cold frame. This will ensure that a warm environment is maintained at all times and allow watering to be controlled effectively. During summer to mid autumn, it is possible to grow on outside, but care must be taken to ensure that recently potted young plants do not get too wet. OVERWATERING is the main reason young plants fail to establish.

During dry spells, take care to ensure the plant does not dry out after planting.
