Fresh from a New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this fine Antique French Late 19th / Early 20th Century Cylinder / Roll Top Desk. Great French quality, a substantial piece with fine straight lines in the style of Louis XVI. Gorgeous combination of Mahogany, Satinwood and other unusual exotic wood, with medium gloss finish. Top features a gray marble held in place by a bronze gallery, below which are a pair of glass doors. Section below has a large curved cylinder lid / door with gorgeous Lyre musical inlay in the center. When opened it reveals 4 drawers above the sliding leather lined writing surface. The entire interior is finished as is the piece. Bottom part has another side by side pair of drawers. Standing on four long tall downward tapering Louis XVI straight legs. Good quality bronze mounts. Condition is good overall, shows light age / use wear (please see photos). Size is great to fit in any room, house or apartment, at 48.5" tall to top finial, 27.5" wide, 15.75" deep, desk writing surface is 27.75", and the knee clearance is 22.25" in height. Great piece for use, and a spectacular quality piece that will take your breath away every time you see it!
