This is a T206 1909-1911 tobacco card of William E. "Wild Bill' Donovan, made by the American Tobacco Company. It is known as the "Throwing" variety, as it depicts Mr. Donovan in a throwing motion.

The back variety is Piedmont 350.

The card was authenticated, graded and encapsulated by PSA, and was given a grade of PR 1 (MK), Poor 1 with Marks; there is a lot of writing on the reverse of the card in the margins, please see the photo.

Mr. Donovan was a right-handed pitcher and a manager. In 1901 he led the National League in wins with 25 pitching for the Brooklyn Superbas.

This card dates from his service with the Detroit Tigers, with whom he played from 1903-1912. He managed the New York Yankees from 1915-1917 and the Tigers in 1918, among other stints as a manager.
