BRUSH, Katharine. Don’t Ever Leave Me. New York: Farrar and Rinehart. 1935. First edition. The author’s third novel, a realist observation of American society, with incidental jazz characters appearing occasionally. Largely forgotten today, Brush received critical and commercial acclaim in her own life, and several of her works were adapted to the screen. Sadly, letters remain voicing her preoccupations with her legacy, stating often to friends about how nobody will remember her. Added incentive to shine a light on her industrious life and career, then. The book near fine with a little offsetting to the endpapers and slight dulling to cloth, else fine. The original dust jacket unclipped and complete, with a few shallow chips and nicks and a handful of very tiny adhesive repairs to verso. Gently rubbed to other edges, but a very handsome copy overall.
